WHO IS CAREER FOR YEARS MEANT FOR?

Career For Years is designed with everyone in mind. From a self-check up using the free resources, to a job search side kick, there's something for everyone. (If there is nothing for you, please tell me so I can learn something from you to share!) Whether you are looking for your first job, transitioning to a new industry, or have no idea what you are looking for, I would love to work with you.  

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND GOOGLE?

Google is fabulous. You may not have found me without it! But, I have found that there are different kinds of advice out there and one size certainly does not fit all. A seasoned chef can read a recipe and know just how to alter to fit the available resources and needs of others. I help you to see the differences in value of various approaches, teach you to do the same for yourself, and tailor advice to suit your scenario. 

I DON'T HAVE A RESUME

No resume? No problem! Who doesn't love a blank canvas? Check out the resume tool kit in Resources and start to develop your very own.  A resume is not a pre-requisite for jumping into your Career For Years journey, but it's a pretty good first step. Remember, I'm here to help! I can promise that you have more experience than you give yourself credit for. 

CAN WE MEET FACE TO FACE?

I would love to! Unfortunately, transportation can be limited and I may not be  on hand. That is where the beauty of technology comes in. I am happy to have consultations over Skype, or in person if I am local to you. 

HOW WILL MY PRIVACY BE PROTECTED?

Great question! I will not pretend to be a tech guru, I leave that up to my site host. I respect and value everyone's privacy and integrity. I will not share your information with any third party without explicit written permission and invite you to review Career For Year's comprehensive privacy policy. 

What is your social enterprise?

Career For Years Peers is a social enterprise that is growing in line with the business goals of Career For Years. This fund will be used to assist individuals to overcome the cost of career transitions and job hunts. 

WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED?

Gosh. While no one has ever asked me this, I feel duty bound to share why I am a great resource worthy of your time and hard earned money. A part from formal education in the field of Human Resources, Employment Relations, Human Rights, and Labour Law, I have worked with individuals over the past 6 years to recognize their potential and where it would be of value in the labour market. I am 100% passionate about everything employment, and believe that each of us can be the captains of our careers. At a minimum, I am positive you'll come away with a smile and a new thought or two. 

DO YOU HAVE A REFUND POLICY?

Of course. If you have paid for a service, you should receive that service. I only ask that you submit in writing to me your account of how the service provided did not match what was provided within one week of the exchange. There is no minimum length or specific questions. I would like to see how I let you down so I can learn for the future. I will not respond beyond thanking you for your feedback and offering a full reimbursement. 

I'VE NEVER WORKED BEFORE

Work does not only mean paid experience. Volunteerism and nearly all life experiences develop transferable traits and skills. I will help you identify them, and communicate how they apply to the world of work. 

WAITING LIST

Career For Years is an army of one. However, I know some amazingly talented people who will be contributing over time to add to the spectrum of thoughts and ideas. For one on one consults and mentoring however, I will only take on as many appointments as I know I can service. If there is a waiting list for any of the sessions, please be patient. It's because I want to be my very best when I work with you. 

You're international, how does that work?

At any point during the operation of Career For Years I could be physically located on the opposite side of the globe from my clients.  This does not mean I can't work with you. I am familiar with the labour markets and practices of Canada, Australia, and the UK and am confident I can provide support and insight. All that is required of you is an internet connection and flexible schedule to manage time differences. I too am chasing my Career For Years dream, which has no borders!
